Donna Tartt, The Secret History (1992) 525p.
A simple story with a classic twist, which I enjoyed reading mainly for its classic plot. The story depicts in a youthful fashion the tension between Apollo and Dionysos, a theme which at the time interested me greatly after being influenced by Friedrich Nietzsche’s Birth of Tragedy (1872), and the sexual discoveries that any young person makes under the cover of secrecy and shame.
