Deliberate Intention (1)
Very rough, unedited version, recorded while trying out stuff, but it has the right sharpness to it:
You have enough
The second part is nog in sync with the first, and I am not happy with the second cord, too melancholic, not enough edge and sharpness in counterbeat. It resembles too much Blockbuster’s Below, but I like the variation of a combined 5/4 and 3/4 measure.
here does the night begin for you
spacial night surround’ by the clouds
we do what lonely hearts must do
to seek blood during hunt in the other
dim window glasses fill the sky
filled by the darkness of the night
we ask ourselves
from which side will the light rise over me
…
The bassline is still missing from this recording, but imagine the bassline following somewhat the melody of the vocals.
The first bassline of the two is quite extensive and lasts for too long perhaps, but if you imagine it shortened you get a good impression of the basic line of the bass for this tune. The idea for the lyrics that boils out of it deals with the fear of compliance in the American working class whose class awareness never elevates them above the threat of poverty or failure and instead fixates their ideals on the American myth that allows every man that works hard enough a life from rags to riches.
